The Professional Standards Bureau has the responsibility of monitoring the ethical behavior and standards of our officers. This includes investigating complaints involving accusations of officer misconduct along with recognizing superior service. Our citizens
are encouraged to communicate with us so that we maintain a high level of accountability within our department and to our citizens.

The complaint/commendation process has recently been revised, Anyone may come to the Department and ask for a Public Service Report. Once the report has been completed and returned to the department, a supervisor will contact you in regards to the matter. If there is no resolution at this time, then the report will be forwarded to the Professional Standards Bureau. A determination will be made if an Official Investigation will be initiated by this office. The writer of the Public Service Report will be contacted and advised of the status of the Report. Commendations will be forwarded to the officer and placed in their personnel file.

Anonymous complaints will be accepted, however, they will need to be accompanied with some type of corroborative evidence in order for an official investigation to begin.
